Welcome to the Inspiration Cafe. It’s Heather this week, and I’m excited to encourage you to try something creative—sewing.
Halloween is almost here—don’t blink. I’m sharing this in September so you can get a jump start on Halloween decor. I tend to make holiday decorations after the holiday passes and then wait a year to use them, so getting started early works best for me.
I felt my house needed a few haunts—little Halloween companions that add atmosphere and a touch of spookiness. They create ambiance, give us a playful shiver, and occasionally make the kids insist on leaving the hall light on. I’m offering two simple options: one made with a sewing machine and a second version sewn by hand with needle and thread. Both are quick, charming, and take very little time to make. For me, being able to craft something in about an hour is a big plus.
To make your own House Haunts, follow the simple steps and adapt materials you already have on hand.
