These Air Fryer Caramelized Bananas are crisp and caramelized on the outside and soft and gooey on the inside. Enjoy them on their own, add your favorite toppings or use them as a topping — a quick, healthy and inexpensive sweet treat.
When I got my first air fryer, I mainly used it for potatoes and roasted vegetables. Earlier this year I picked up a cookbook with air fryer recipes and started experimenting to see what else I could make.
Since then I’ve made roasted garlic aioli, coffee‑infused BBQ cauliflower wings, toasted muffins and these caramelized bananas.
What I love about this recipe is how quick and simple it is — only three main ingredients:
-
banana
-
coconut sugar
-
lemon juice
You can also add a pinch of cinnamon for extra warmth. The texture of the caramelized bananas is soft and pudding‑like, with a slightly crunchy caramelized top from the sugar. I like to serve them with coconut yogurt or coconut whip and a sprinkle of nuts for crunch.
I’m a big fan of air fryers and recommend having one in your kitchen. I’ll keep experimenting with new snacks and meals to make in it. If you have an air fryer, what’s your favorite thing to make? Let me know!

Use bananas that are ripe but not overly soft — look for yellow bananas for the best texture.
-
You can substitute other sugars if needed, but coconut sugar gives the richest caramel flavor.
