Use a double boiler on the stovetop and gently melt the chips with the sweetened condensed milk, stirring until smooth.

4. Pour the warm fudge into the prepared pan and smooth the surface with an offset spatula. If you reserved a small handful of peanut butter chips, sprinkle them on top and gently press them into the fudge.

5. Cover and chill in the refrigerator until fully set, at least 2 hours or overnight for best results. When set, lift the parchment to remove the fudge from the pan and slice into 1-inch squares for bite-sized pieces.

Additions & Variations

Toppings: Swap the peanut butter chips on top for chopped peanut butter cups, chopped peanuts, or pecans for extra texture.

Sea salt: A light sprinkle of flaky sea salt balances the sweetness and enhances the chocolate-peanut butter flavor.

Marbled: For a marbled effect, split the sweetened condensed milk between two bowls and melt the chocolate and peanut butter chips separately. Layer spoonfuls in the pan and swirl with a knife.

Half batch: Want fewer servings? Use a 9 x 4-inch loaf pan and halve the ingredient amounts.

Vanilla: Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract after melting for subtle warmth and depth.
