With Martin Luther King Jr. Day coming up next week, Ella has been learning about this important leader and the values he championed.
Yesterday she brought home a small book from school filled with pictures that illustrate Dr. King’s beliefs—peace, cooperation, and responsible citizenship.

On the final page the book provided space for the children to draw how they could follow Dr. King’s example.

If you can’t tell, Ella drew herself helping a little girl who fell and hurt her leg by giving her a bandage.
My heart just melted. She’s my sweet girl with a generous spirit, and seeing her kindness makes me so proud. Her drawing is also a gentle reminder to me to offer help whenever I can. I try to do that already, but Ella’s example inspires me to be even more attentive to others’ needs.

I just wanted to share this proud mommy moment with you.
